Memento Mori

Ugh! I can’t get this phrase out of my head. I know, you guys probably heard this countless times. I know I did- from movies, documentaries and anime, etc. Memento mori is a latin phrase and here’s what google has to say about it:

me·men·to mo·ri
məˈmenˌtō ˈmôrē/noun
an object serving as a warning or reminder of death, such as a skull

an object serving as a warning or reminder of death, such as a skull
an object serving as a warning or reminder of death, such as a skull
an object serving as a warning or reminder of death, such as a skull

Wikipedia defines it as:
Memento mori (Latin: “remember that you have to die”) is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits.

Today can be considered as #thoughtfulthursday because so many thoughts are coursing down my mind. I just have to right some of them down. Those ideas that probably can be of help to others as well.

I like this phrase because it reminds us of our mortality. That we only have borrowed lives and that someday, we will die and our earthly body will turn into dust. Therefore, we must hasten, let God use us for His purpose and do good for we know not the hour of our demise. But this does not mean that we go about life fast paced worrying about death. The thing is, I begin to appreciate life more and how precious it is and the people and everything that surrounds us. As I always tend to forget, every second counts. So, I remind myself to tell those dear to me that I care, love and miss them. Maybe that single message could totally transform a dull day into something much better. Share your thoughts and feeling. It’s free. Also, God is only a prayer away if you need Him. So why fret?

In conclusion, memento mori reminds us we are mere mortals. However, we are assured by Jesus’ return. Where He will take the faithful’s weary soul back to that heavenly kingdom He so longed to be occupied by the human race.

Artbox Market Bangkok

One quirky, hispter type container market with lots of good food, drinks and live entertainment which will suite all age groups, foodie, tourist and photo enthusiasts alike.

Visited Artbox because I miss the cheesy fries from ifry and I’m too lazy to prepare dinner. Their fries are really popular because the popup shop now have tables for their patron and there are new flavors added from the usual cheese and bacon, sour cream and spicy cheese and they also serve fish and chips.

Hey there reader. I’m thrilled you came upon this site and I hope you will not regret visiting. First of all, this site contains personal thoughts, photographs, a bit of videos or shorts (some still being concocted deep within my subconscious mind), and a lot of fancy or not food you might want to try someday.

Not a usual morning person but I braved the chilly Saturday morning to view the sunrise from our rooftop enjoying a rather big mug of chocolate infused coffee topped with marshmallows.

This is actually just an extended web version of myself which depicts my crazy journey through adulthood. So, join me in my exploits and I wish you the best in life and of course, happiness.
